900 Blocking
.
This feature will allow you to allow or deny all, none, or any specific 900 numbers. The list may be changed as often as you wish.

900/976 Blocking
.
In response to public concern over possible nuisance of the services or objectionable messages, 900/976 Call Blocking is available upon request at no charge.

Anonymous Call Rejection
.
This feature allows subscribers to automatically stop certain calls from ringing their phone. The calls stopped are "restricted," namely they would be displayed as "P" or "Private" on a subscribers Caller ID device, meaning that the calling person did not send you his calling number. The person who makes such a call would hear, "We're sorry, the party you have reached is not accepting private calls. To make your call, hang up, Dial *82 or 1182 from a rotary phone and re-dial." The caller will be able to reach you only by re-dialing without restricting display of his or her number.

Service available only with individual line service in our exchanges. 1-9 choices per level included.
Voice Mail boxes attached to a choice are $4.00 per mail box. You can have up to 4 levels on this automated attendant.

Automatic Callback
.
The feature keeps dialing busy numbers and tells you when the line is free
.
To activate:
  • When you get a busy signal, hang up.
  • Dial *66 You will hear an announcement. Hangup.
  • The line will be checked 30 minutes and give you a special ring when it's free.
  • Lift the handset to automatically place the call.
To Deactivate:
  • Dial *86
Automatic Recall
.
This feature lets you redial the caller even if you couldn't answer the telephone in time.

To activate:
  • Lift the handset and dial *69 You will hear an announcement telling you the number of the last person to call you.
  • Dial 1 to call the number.
  • If the line is busy, you will receive an announcement and your phone will try the number for 30 minutes.

Call Forward Busy
.
When your phone is busy, an incoming call is transferred to another number. That number might be one appearing in your phone system. It might be one at your home in the same city. It could even be in another city.

Call Forward Don't Answer
.
This feature will forward incoming calls to a predetermined number if you are not able to answer your calls.

To Activate:
  • Dial *92
  • After you hear the second dial tone, dial the number of rings to transfer (2-9), then dial the number you want your calls to transfer to.
  • When someone answers at the number you dialed, Call Forwarding is activated.
  • If you receive a busy signal or no answer, hang up and try again within two minutes. You will get a confirmation tone verifying the activation.
Deactivate:
  • Dial *93 Listen for confirmation tone
Call Forward Remote Access
.
This feature allows you to change your forwarding from another location other than your own home or business.
.
Activate Remotely:
  • Dial _ _ _ - 8800 (Insert your home prefix 528,634,625, etc.) Access from a remote site may require a long distance call.
  • Wait for dial tone and dial your telephone number to be forwarded plus your 4-digit PIN Number (Telephone Company assigns).
  • Wait for second dial tone and dial *72.
  • Wait for third dial tone and dial the number to be forwarded to. Confirm tone is heard.
Deactivate Remotely:
  • Dial _ _ _ - 8800 (Insert your home prefix 528,634,625, etc.) Access from a remote site may require a long distance call.
  • Wait for dial tone and dial your telephone number to be forwarded plus your 4-digit PIN Number (Telephone Company assigns).
  • Wait for second dial tone and dial *73 Confirmation Tone is heard (Works with Call Forward Busy and Call Forward Don't Answer).
Call Forwarding

Allows your calls to be forwarded to any other telephone number you choose.

Activate:
  • Dial 72#
  • After you hear the second dial tone, dial the number you want your calls to.
  • When someone answers at the number you dialed, Call Forwarding is activated.
  • If you receive a busy signal or no answer, hang up and try again within two minutes. You will get a confirmation tone verifying activation.
Deactivate:
  • Dial 73# Listen for confirmation tone.
Call Number Blocking
.
This service allows you to prevent your number from displaying on the called parties telephone. Dial *67 prior to making your call.

Call Waiting
.
This feature allows you to handle more than one call from a single line. Simply put the first caller on hold and take the second call. You can switch between the two calls if necessary. This helps you to not miss that important call. Activate:
  • Call waiting is activated at the Vernon Telephone office
Deactivate:
  • Dial *70 then the number that you wish to call. Call waiting is activated for that
  • call only. Activation is automatic after that call.
To Use:
When a second call arrives at your telephone number when you are on the phone, you will hear a soft tone. The caller hears a normal ring. To answer the second call, press the receiver hook or flash button (if equipped). Your first call is placed on hold and you now have the second caller. Repeat the same procedure to toggle between callers. A third caller who tries your number will get a normal busy tone.

Note:
Cancel call waiting is a valuable feature to use if you are using your line to connect to the Internet. A call waiting tone may disconnect your modem from its call. This feature can be programmed to activate automatically with your computer dial-up program.

Cancel Call Waiting
.
Service given with Call Waiting.Cancels Call Waiting by dialing a sequence of numbers prior to making a call. Eliminates computer disconnection for times you use your telephone line for data. Free with call waiting.

Call Waiting with Caller ID (NEW)
.
Displays the identity of the calling party when Call Waiting is active.

Customer Originated Trace
.
This feature allows you to record the number of the calling party. The normal use of this feature is for nuisance calls.

To activate:
  • When you get a nuisance call hang up. Life handset and listen for dial tone. Press *57.
  • Listen for announcement and hang up. The number you traced will be recorded at the Telephone Company. (Please notify authorities for calling party information)
Note:
The number you traced will be recorded at the telephone company. If you decide to follow up on the matter, please contact your local authorities. A charge of $3.00 per call will be charged for this service.

Long Speed Call (Speed Calling 30)
.
This feature allows the customer to store up to 30 of the most frequently called phone numbers.

PIN Blocking
.
This feature allows you to program a PIN Number on your line and only with the use of this PIN Number will you be allowed to make any billable calls. Local and 800, 888, 877, 866 calls are still allowed.

Remote Call Forwarding
.
Allows a customer to have a local telephone number in a distant city. Every time someone calls that number, that call is forwarded to you in your city. Remote call forwarding is very much like call forwarding on a local residential line, except that you have no phone, no office and no physical presence in the distant city.

Selective Call Acceptance
.
This feature allows you to program up to 10 numbers that you only wish to receive. This feature only works if the calling number is identified by the telephone company equipment. This feature is not currently available from all sites nation wide To Activate:
  • Dial *64 Follow the recorded instructions.
Selective Call Forwarding
.
Forwards all calls from a pre-selected list to a specific destination.

Selective Call Rejection
.
This feature allows you to program up to 10 numbers you wish not to receive. This feature only works if the calling number is identified by the telephone equipment. This feature is not currently available from all sites nation wide. To activate:
  • Dial *60 Follow the recorded instructions
Short Speed Call
.
This feature allows you to store up to 8 of your most frequently dialed numbers by dialing just one digit. Includes long distance. To Establish Your Speed Call List:
  • Dial 74#
  • Dial one of the 8 one-digit access code numbers (2-9)
  • Dial the number you wish to store
  • Dial # Confirmation tone is heard
  • Repeat procedure for other codes.
To Use:
  • Lift the receiver and dial the one-digit access code (2-9)
  • Dial # Call is automatically dialed
Note:
Telephone numbers can be changed by simply reprogramming the code with another telephone number.

Telemarketing Blocking Service (NEW)
.
This feature blocks telemarketing services, If a customer has caller id, this option will send all calls to the customer where the number will display. When active the calling party will hear "The number you are calling does not accept calls from telemarketing groups and they should add the number to their do not call list. All others may press "1" if they wish to complete their call.

Three Way Calling/ Conference Calling
.
This feature allows three parties at three different locations to talk at once. This is ideal for business calls or for family and friends.

To Activate:
  • Three Way Calling is activated at the Vernon Telephone office.
To Use:
  • Make your first telephone call. Notify the party that you will be putting them on hold. Press the receiver hook or flash button.
  • A confirmation tone is heard.
  • Make your second call. When second call is answered, press the receiver hook or flash button. Both calls should be connected automatically.
Note:
One incoming call can be conferenced to a second outgoing call. Two incoming calls will not work with this feature. If you have conversation with the third call and want to continue with the second call, simply press the receiver hook or flash button.

User Transfer (NEW)
.
Used with Three Way Calling. Customer can transfer calls to another party.
.
Teen Line (Distinctive Ringing)
.
The feature helps your present telephone do the work of two. It gives you two telephone numbers for your one phone line. Each number has its own special ring. Each phone number may be listed in the telephone directory.

Teen Service Voice Mail Services (NEW)
.
Additional basic voice mail service. Must have voice mail on main number.
.
Stand Alone Voice Mail Services (NEW)
.
Having voice mail without having plain old telephone service.
.
Wake Up (NEW)
.
Customer can establish the specific time of the Wake Up Services by using a touch tone phone.

Toll Denial
.
Permits phone user to make local calls but denies completion of toll calls or calls to the toll operator without the assistance of the attendant.

Greeting Only (NEW)
.
Greeting Only Voice Mail- No mailbox option, 2 minutes greeting times.

Voice Mail-Enhanced
.
This feature allows a customer more minutes to be added to your voice mail.

Additional Voice Mailbox
.
This feature allows a customer to add another mailbox to their main voice mail box.
