The MainStreet Messenger

At the heart of the Vernon Medlink program is the award-winning MainStreet Messenger® telephone. It boasts large, backlit key pad, handset volume control (handset is hearing aid compatible), and features such as redial, speakerphone, and four speed-dial keys

The messenger is a state-of-the-art personal emergency response system (PERS), and includes:

.High Quality Speakerphone -- For two-way voice communication.
.Small, Waterproof Transmitter Button -- Can be worn in the shower or bath.
.Activity Monitoring - If programmed, the Messenger will send an alarm if not used in a 12, 18, or 24 hour period.
.Daily Reminder Feature - If programmed, four daily reminders can easily be programmed for medication, appointments, etc.
.Rechargeable back-up battery for short-term power failures (up to six hours)

How Vernon Medlink and the MainStreet Messenger® work

Vernon Medlink Main Street Messenger TransmitterShould an elderly or disabled customer become ill or fall, he/she can call for immediate help by pressing the alert button on the Messenger or the personal transmitter. The high quality, lightweight, and waterproof transmitters are durable and comfortable to wear (on the wrist or around the neck). If a senior requires assistance, a simple press of the button will get them the help they need.

When activated, the Messenger immediately calls the Vernon Memorial Hospital where trained professional dispatchers will be in two-way voice contact with the customer requesting assistance. Important information on the customer is displayed at the monitoring station allowing the dispatcher to determine the nature of the call and to take the appropriate action. With the MainStreet Messenger, help in an emergency is just moments away.

One time installation charge- $20.00
.
Monthly lease - $ 20.00 (includes MainStreet Messenger, one personal transmitter, and 24-hour monitoring service. Additional charges apply for extra transmitters, smoke detectors, or motion sensors.

In (state), Medicaid will reimburse eligible patients for the MainStreet Messenger system.
