How To Test Customer Owned Equipment ...To avoid a service charge Telephones See that all cords are firmly plugged in and all handsets are in place. If you cannot make outgoing calls, unplug all your phones, answering machines, etc. At various jacks, test each phone individually by plugging it in and making a test call. Continue until you find the phone that doesn't work. You may also test your phones at a neighbor's house. If an individual phone does not work at any of your jacks or your neighbor's jacks, the trouble is probably in the phone. If all phones work at your neighbor's jacks, but not at your own, the trouble is probably in the inside wiring or outside cable. If you have trouble receiving calls, follow these steps, but have someone return your call. How To Call Extensions On Your Own Line If you have more than one telephone in your home, you have an intercom feature at your finger tips. This intercom feature is available to you at no extra cost as part of your basic telephone service. To use dial your own number. When you hear a "beep" tone, hang up the telephone. The telephone will ring and when answered at another extension, the ringing will stop. This service will not work if you have voice mail on your telephone line. Statement of Non-Discrimination |
